Meet the Yarn: Squishy
Meet Squishy, our most popular sock yarn. It's spun from a blend of Superwash Merino, Cashmere, and Nylon - the same blend that we use for Cloud, Cricket, and For Better or Worsted. While we refer to it as a fingering-weight yarn, it's definitely on the heavier side of the fingering spectrum.
As a knitter, when I want to feed my stash, I pick up fingering-weight yarn. It's so versatile - I don't worry about being able to find the right pattern because there are so many available that use just one skein. With one skein, I can make a pair of socks, a shawlette, or gloves and a hat. With a couple of skeins I can make a big shawl. And with 3 - 4 skeins I can make a sweater or a baby blanket.
If the longer knit time has caused you to shy away from knitting garments in a fingering weight, consider the lighter weight of the resulting fabric. A Squishy sweater may suit your winter layering better than a thicker sweater. It's not comfortable to feel like that kid from A Christmas Story who can't put his arms down!
Squishy takes our dyes true, so you can expect rich, expressive colorways from a skein of this yarn. And with over 100 colorways, you are bound to find the perfect combination for your project!
Or keep it simple with just one.
You can find Squishy at your local LYS, or online. Your favorite shop doesn't carry Squishy? They can place a special order for anything we create, for one skein or a hundred.
