I’ve long-loved Anzula’s yarns. I’ve designed lots of accessories with it in the past, such as Aberdeen, Faro, and several of the designs in my latest book, Cozy Stash-Busting Knits. The yarn is perfect for my accessories – it’s soft, the stitch definition you get is incredible and the colors are beyond gorgeous. When I saw the call for designs for their new Cloud booklet and Nebula booklet, I knew I had to design something for each one. The yarn – it was speaking to me once again.

Kabeliai combines everything I love in a shawl these days – cables, lace, and sideways construction. The hint of cashmere in the Anzula Cloud yarn doesn’t hurt either. One skein of Cloud is all it takes to make this shawl.

The shawl starts out with just a few stitches and slowly increases on the bias, creating diagonal cables and lace. It’s finished off with a small picot-edge border.

My second design, Mandarijn, are fun and funky fingerless mitts worked in one skein of Anzula Nebula. The Nebula yarn has a bit of Stellina running through it, giving it a beautiful, subtle sparkle. What was surprising to me is that the yarn is still so incredibly soft. That’s hard to find in a sparkle yarn, but Anzula has done it.

The mitts are identical and feature a geometric lace pattern that I think pairs with the yarn perfectly. The pattern is written for three hand sizes, meaning you can make some for all for your friends and family.
