DIO

We have joined forces with Twee Boutique to create DIO, a monthly artisan bazaar at Anzula. What is DIO? Well, it stands for Did It Ourselves. And the first market will be this Saturday the 16th from 10 am until 3 pm. The purpose is to bring local artisans & crafts people together under one roof to sell their wares.

This first DIO is going to be amazing. We have a truly talented line up of vendors. We are going to have fresh brewed coffee from Cafe Corazon and delicious cupcakes from Frosted. From 11 am to 1pm Dusty Buns is going to be parked out front in their Bistro Bus.

Now let me introduce the vendors.

Passionately Created designs jewelry with character, elegance, femininity, and power.

Hope Ink creates original sketches, hand drawn ideas & art incorporated into digital design.

AIM4U creates fashionable headbands & eye masks.

Retrospect creates unique notebooks & cards.

Anzula hand dyes luxury spinning fiber.

We have a few other vendors lined up, but you will just have to come on out to check them out. We look forward to seeing you Saturday!

Anzula Trunk Show @ Janna's Needle Art

Janna's Needle Art in Fresno, California will be hosting an Anzula trunk show October 9th through October 17th. They are located at 5091 N Fresno St # 124, Fresno, CA.

I will be there on Saturday, October 9th, from noon to 3pm to chat, talk about our yarn & of course knit. I hope to see you there!

eta: I just got word that Janna's is offering a 15% discount on all Anzula yarn during the trunk show. This includes all Anzula yarn bought during the show & any prepaid special orders. How cool is that!?! The only thing is this can't be combined with any other discount or special offers. Happy Knitting!

August Project of the Month - Dawn's Haruni Shawl

This month's project is a beautiful shawl knit by Dawn (myrrhmary on Ravelry) in Anzula Breeze.

The pattern is Haruni, a free pattern available on Ravelry. Here's what Dawn has to say about this project.

I used smaller needle than the pattern called for for the lace weight yarn, a #3,  and did extra repeats of pattern to compensate. Ended with 16 “stems” on each side. I love it! I did the I-cord bind off, which took forever, and was a good incentive to learn to crochet. * I Actually like the look of the i-cord bind-off better. I really loved this shawl, especially after blocking and planned to keep it and wear it all the time. The project I planned for my mom's birthday didn't go so well and I ended up giving it to her instead. Love this yarn, so soft and beautiful. It has a wonderful shine and lovely to touch.

Thank you Dawn! The shawl is lovely and what a great present for your mom. She looks great in it.
