Anzula Takes Over the Great Lakes!

We'll be packing up all of the yarn in the warehouse to send with Sabrina & Robert as they visit our shops in the Great Lakes area in June!

Their tour schedule:

June 17: Amazing Threads, Maple Grove, MN, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

June 19: The Knitting Tree, Madison, WI, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

June 22: I'd Rather Be Knitting, Buffalo Grove, IL, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

June 23: Three Bags Full, Northbrook, IL, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

June 24: Loopy Yarns, Chicago, IL, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

June 25: Knit 1, Chicago, IL, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

June 26: Country Needleworks, Jenison, MI, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

June 27: Timeless Stitches, Tecumseh, MI, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

With the exception of Stitches West, trunk shows are your best opportunity to see many of our bases and colorways in the same place. Our shops can always place special orders for you, so it's also a good time to take notes - for example, you can pick out the yarn and colorway you'd like to use for your 30 Day Sweater in October now, and order it in a month or two.  Planning ahead like that also leaves your yarn budget open to pick up a few skeins from the trunk show. We bring OOAK (one of a kind) skeins and we'll even have a few variegated skeins with us - these are definitely skeins you won't be able to get again.

Be sure to come into your LYS and see our yarns, patterns, and sample knits. If you're not in the area, be sure that you've "liked" us on Facebook to see photos from the road!

TNNA Summer 2014

As you know, Sabrina and Robert have been on the road, pulling up to our shops with a truckload of yarn and fibers from here to Indianapolis. (Have you been following the tour on Facebook?) They'll make the final stop of their tour on Wednesday at Knit Stop and then end up at the Indiana Convention Center on Friday to start setting up the booth. Charlie and I (Meg) are looking forward to meeting them and Lacie there!

Thursday we will be preparing for the TNNA event that kicks the weekend off for us - Sample It! That will be the first opportunity to see and purchase our new yarns. All I can say is that we will have three new bases! We have been knitting with them and we really can't wait to share them with you. We'll also have three new colorways for the show.

Our colorways from January's TNNA - the shawl is in Temperance and Prudence, and on the rack you can see Gravity, Nimbus, Penny, and Sexy.

After Sample It! we'll be headed over to the Fashion Show. We are excited to share and see two new garments. One is from the Sexy Knitter, and the other is from Lacie Lynnae

The show floor opens on Saturday morning. In the lobby, we will be showing our new yarns at both the Discover What's New and Great Wall of Yarn displays. We also have fiber available at the Daily Dose of Fiber display.

We'll be on the floor Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We are so looking forward to seeing our shop owners and designers, meeting new people, and sharing our new yarns. Be sure to keep watching Facebook for updates - we'll be releasing the information about our three new bases this weekend!

Hello From The Road!

Hello from the road! I am currently having breakfast in a hotel somewhere in Kansas. We just wrapped up our whirlwind tour in Colorado and we will be stopping in Salina, Kansas City, Saint Louis, and Indianapolis. Trunk shows in each city, then our industry trade show, TNNA. TNNA, The National Needlearts Assosition, is where wholesale, retail, designers, publishers and everyone on the business side of our industry come together and discover new trends, take and make orders, network, and run on very little sleep.

We always tour on our way out to the trade shows. It is a great way to meet our customers and see where our yarns lives. Being in our yarn shops is one of my favorite things. After a few times in a shop, it becomes like a second home. You see many of the same faces and the shop owners are like favorite cousins. You want to spend all the moments catching up, but there are only a few brief stolen moments to actually do so.

Jaime, at Fancy Tiger, put it perfectly, and I'm just going to paraphrase. The first time or two someone comes to set up for an event, we all stress about it going perfectly and being on our best behaviour. But as she and Amber were preparing for our event, they remembered, it is just Sabrina, she knows what she is doing and where everything is, we can relax. And that's exactly how I feel when I come home to a shop. I know where to put my bags, where there is room for back stock, approximately how the set up is going to go and it is just fun. I love this about being on the road and feel so fortunate to be able to spend this time with you all. See you at the next stop!

P.S. Please forgive any typos, I am on a new tablet and don't know how to use spell check yet.

P.P.S. I also don't know how to add photos yet, so if you are interested, please go to our facebook page to see our road show pics for now.
