ArtHop tonight featuring Chris Church
Tonight's ArtHop features fiber artist Chris "Chrispy" Church, a graduate of Oregon College of Art and Craft. Chris has been knitting for 13 years and designing patterns since 2007. Chris designs with the idea that the garments we wear should cover the body but show off its beauty with elegance. She enjoys various techniques and tries to use them to create unique structure in her designs.
Chris designed these three dresses for her thesis titled Fruits of the Spirits. The dresses are Love, Patience, and Self-Control. You can see some more pictures of the dresses in her Flickr account, but these need to be seen in person!
She also sent samples of 8 knitting patterns available on ravelry. They include two pairs of mittens, three cowls, three hats, a tank top, and a pair of socks. My favorite are the Squiggle Mittens. Also included is a preview of Katherine Hepburn, a hat pattern available next spring.
We hope you can come by to see all of Chris's beautiful work, and we thank her for sending it to us for ArtHop.
